HOUSTON — A patient alleges a foot surgeon misdiagnosed her condition and performed an unnecessary surgery.

Lisa Christine Clem filed a complaint July 7 in Harris County Court against Fraizer Foot and Ankle Center and Michael J. Frazier, DPM alleging negligence.

Clem, according to her suit, sought treatment for pain in her toe joints from Fraizer on Nov. 16, 2021. She alleges that Fraizer incorrectly diagnosed her with a "hallux valgus deformity" and performed unnecessary surgery on Dec. 21, 2021, without first "exhausting conservative treatment."

Clem further alleges that as a result of the unnecessary surgery, she has required revision surgeries, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical expenses. She claims Frazier's negligence made her pain and suffering worse today than it was when she originally presented to Fraizer for treatment. Clem also claims she has suffered mental anguish as well as loss of future earning capacity.

Clem seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by James Edwards and Kenneth Nguyen of The Law Offices of Jim Edwards PLLC in Houston.
