HOUSTON — A catering company employee is accused of stealing business and funds from the company after being terminated.

Voss Catering Inc., filed a complaint July 12 in Harris County District Court against Shaun Leva, Ingris Grandos and Rachel Leva alleging fraud and other claims.

According to Voss' complaint, Shaun Leva began working as their catering manager in November of 2013. They allege that during his work with Voss, there were issues regarding his performance including incorrect orders, missed orders and orders that were not delivered on time. Voss claims they fired Shaun Leva in May of 2021, and that he was required to return all of the items he was provided including a company-owed cell phone. They allege that Leva and other defendants developed a scheme to divert clients away from Voss and to steal money from the company.

Specifically, Voss claims the defendants took catering orders from their customers using a spoofed email address that resembled their company email address and sent invoices and took payments through a Stripe account that was associated with the Voss company's phone number. Voss further claims the defendants then used their products and staff to deliver orders to their customers with the defendants collecting more than $130,000 in payments for those orders which were then deposited into Shaun Leva's personal account at the Bank of Texas.

Voss seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Roni Most of Kahana Feld in Houston.
