Reed Smith named to Bloomberg Law's DEI Framework

Global law firm Reed Smith today again was named to Bloomberg Law’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework, making it one of 43 U.S.-based law firms that stood out for their transparency about diversity-related metrics and distinguished performance in six core pillars: demographics, leadership and talent pipeline, recruitment and retention, business innovation and strategy, marketing, and diversity and inclusion in the community.

“We are honored to be named to the Bloomberg Law DEI Framework for the second year in a row,” said Douglas Cameron, Reed Smith’s managing partner – Americas. “Promoting and maintaining a highly diverse firm is in our DNA – it’s who we are. Diversity, equity and inclusion are integral to our efforts around talent, client service and firm success. We appreciate the recognition for results we have achieved and will keep striving for excellence in this essential area of our business.”

“The desire to incorporate DEI into the selection process for outside legal services presents a new challenge for the industry, but Reed Smith has distinguished itself as a law firm worthy of consideration,” said Bloomberg Law President Joe Breda. “Through a demonstrated commitment to DEI, Reed Smith is helping to move the legal industry forward and we recognize their performance by naming them as a member of our 2022 DEI Framework.”

Bloomberg Law’s DEI Framework was developed in collaboration with Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index team, as well as diversity leads at corporations and U.S.-based law firms. Performance was assessed across more than 85 metrics, each associated with one of the framework’s six core pillars.

Reed Smith was previously named to Bloomberg Law’s inaugural DEI Framework in 2021, along with 27 other firms.
