HOUSTON — A general laborer alleges a faulty gate at a job site fell on top of him and caused him to suffer serious injuries.

Gabriel Zamora filed a complaint  Aug. 16 in Harris County District Court against AA Warehouse LLC and Ana Estrada alleging negligence and premises liability.

Zamora, according to his complaint, was working as a general laborer for Ana Estrada on Nov. 16, 2021, on a property on Luell Street in Houston. He claims that as he went to investigate where the security dog had been barking, the property gate suddenly fell on top of him and crushed his upper and lower torso and back. Zamora alleges that the defendants knew of the dangerous condition with the gate and that it was being held together with a rope and string.

He claims as a result of his injuries, he was taken to Memorial Herman TMC Hospital by ambulance and required multiple surgeries. Zamora alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to maintain the premises, for improperly fixing the broken gate which gave the appearance it was in working order and for not warning of the hazardous condition. He also alleges the defendants did not implement adequate safety procedures. Zamora claims he suffered disfigurement, impairment, lost earnings and incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident.

Zamora seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Spencer Speed of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner in Houston.
