HOUSTON — A restaurant patron who suffered injuries when the chair at her table suddenly collapsed is claiming negligence.
Ana Leodan filed a complaint Aug. 15 in Harris County District Court against Taqueria Laredo Inc.
Leodan alleges in her complaint that she was at Laredo Taqueria on Patton Street in Houston on May 22, 2021. She claims that when she went to sit down at her table, the chair collapsed and caused her to fall onto the tile floor and suffer injuries.
Leodan alleges Taqueria Laredo's negligence for creating the unreasonably dangerous condition by having a faulty chair available for its customer's to use. She also alleges Taqueria Laredo was negligent for failing to warn of the faulty chair, place barriers in the area or remove the hazard. Leodan claims the restaurant also failed to properly inspect and maintain its premises which caused her to suffer pain, impairment, mental anguish and caused her to incur medical expenses.
Leodan seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Sofia Straus of The Law Office of Domingo Garcia LLP in Houston.
