GALVESTON — A couple allege they were sold a defective RV by a dealer in League City that included mold damage and a defective battery.
Nick Landford and Allison Landford filed a complaint Aug. 15 in Galveston County District Court against Keyston RV Company, Holiday World of Houston LLC and others alleging negligence, breach of implied warranty of merchantability and other claims.
The Landfords purchased a 2020 Keyston Fusion RV from Holiday World of League City in August of 2020, according to their complaint. They allege that less than three months after the purchase, they noticed "multiple and substantial" defects including an inoperable refrigerator, warped flooring and cabinetry in the kitchen and a defective battery. The Landfords further allege that the warping on the floors and on the kitchen cabinets was due to a water leak that was present in the RV at the time it was sold.
They claim the water leak also caused mold and that the RV remained in the possession of Holiday Word for more than a year without the defendants having made the needed repairs under the warranty obligations to the defective RV. The plaintiffs allege Holiday World violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and are also negligent for failing to prevent the sale of the defective RV or properly inspecting the work done on the RV.
The Landfords seek monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Charles Dunkel, Jr.,m of Thomson Dunkel Law PLLC in League City.
