Suit: Woman suffers broken leg after fall in Omni Hotel lobby

HOUSTON — A woman alleges she tripped and fell at the Omni Hotel in Houston and suffered a broken leg and other injuries. 

Kieu Nguyen filed a complaint  Aug. 29 in Harris County District Court against TRT Holdings Inc., alleging negligence and liability. 

Nguyen, according to her complaint, was at the Omni Hotel in the Memorial area of Houston on Aug. 29, 2021. She alleges that while at the hotel, she tripped and fell in the lobby and suffered a broken leg, back injuries and now suffers from headaches.  

Nguyen claims the defendant's negligence for failing to recognize and fix the hazard, failing to train its employees and for not properly maintaining the premises. She also claims the defendant was negligent for failing to inspect and make the needed repairs to the flooring or ensure safety procedures were being followed and enforced. Nguyen alleges she also suffered impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of her trip and fall. 

Nguyen seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Andrew Dao of Daly & Black PC in Houston and Michael Nguyen and Son Ngo of The NN Firm PLLC in Houston.
