HOUSTON – A woman who suffered injuries at a go-kart track in Houston after being forcefully rear-ended is claiming negligence.

Kaitlin Nunez filed a complaint Oct. 3 in Harris County District Court against Christopher D. Jordan doing business as Speedy's Fast Track alleging negligence and premises liability.

Nunez claims in her suit that she was at the Speedy's Fast Track on Hempstead Road in Houston on Sept. 25, 2022, and operating a go-kart on the track. She claims that as she reached a "turn point" where several other go-karts had piled up from a collision she was forced to slow down and was rear-ended "with great force."

Nunez alleges that the defendants were negligent in failing to warn invitees of the potential dangers of operating the go-karts. She also alleges the defendants did not properly control the speed of the go-karts or instruct their customers on safety. Nunez claims the defendants also allowed the go-karts to be operated in a reckless manner which caused her to suffer pain, mental anguish and to incur medical expenses.

Nunez seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by David Mestemaker, Norman Straub, Jonathan Zumwalk and Matthew Esch of Mesemaker, Straub & Zumwalt in Houston.
