HOUSTON — A Houston Toyota dealer is facing a negligence suit alleging a vehicle they had just serviced suddenly lost its front tires.

Waqas Nadir and Muhammad Waqas Raza filed a complaint Sept. 19 in Harris County District Court against Mike Calvert, individually and doing business as Mike Calvert Toyota Service alleging negligence.

According to their complaint, the plaintiffs brought a vehicle to Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston on June 14, 2021, for a tire rotation. They claim that as they drove the vehicle home after the tire rotation, the car's front tires suddenly fell off and caused them to suffer injuries from a collision.

The plaintiffs allege Mike Calvert Toyota's negligence for failing to properly service, inspect and repair their vehicle. They also allege Mike Calvert Toyota failed to recognize hazards "with an extreme degree of risk" and that due to the defendant's negligence, they suffered pain, impairment, lost wages, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by David Mestemaker, Norman Straub, Jonathan Zumwalt and Matthew Esch of Mestemaker, Straub & Zumwalt in Houston.
