HOUSTON — A night time office janitor is being accused of urinating in worker's water bottles that were left on desks.

M.B., K.D., M.N., M.P., C.P., A.S., V.V, and K.Z., filed a complaint Jan. 26 in Harris County Disrict Court against Maintenance of Houston, Inc., Altera East Houston LLC and others alleging negligence.

The plaintiffs, according to their complaint, were employed by businesses who lease commercial space in a building on Westmont in Houston which is owned and managed by the defendants. They claim that in August of 2022, they noticed that the bottled water in their office space began to smell and taste foul and began to bring their own water bottles to work.

The plaintiffs allege that a hidden camera showed the nighttime janitor urinating in the water bottles sitting on the desk and claims the defendants were made aware of the situation and "sat on their hands" until terminating the janitor. They claim the defendants negligence for failing to properly supervise their staff or perform an adequate background check on the janitor. They also claim the defendants knew or should have known of the janitor's history of misconduct.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Muhammad Aziz and Morgan Mills of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner in Houston and Kimberly Spurlock and Samantha Spencer of Sprulock & Associates PC in Humble.
