GALVESTON — A woman alleges she suffered injuries when a bottle fell on her head while shopping at a Kroger grocery store in League City.
Janet Walker filed a complaint Jan. 30 in Galveston County District Court against Kroger Texas LP alleging negligence.
Walker alleges in her complaint, that she was at the Kroger store on South Egret Bay Boulevard in League City on Dec. 7, 2022. She claims as she was walking through the store, a "heavy glass bottle" fell onto her head and caused her to suffer injuries to her head, eye, mouth and other parts of her body.
Walker alleges Kroger was negligent for failing to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and for failing to inspect the premises. She also alleges Kroger's negligence for failing to correct the hazard or warn of the dangerous condition in the store. Walker claims as a result of her injuries, she suffered mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses.
Walker seeks monetary relief of no more than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Gary Saunders of The Daspit Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
