Butler Snow LLP has hired eight new attorneys in four offices across the firm, including Austin, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; and Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Austin, Texas
Anne G. Crisp has joined Butler Snow’s Austin, Texas, office. She will practice with the firm’s Appellate and Commercial Litigation groups, specializing in appellate and written advocacy.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Crisp graduated with her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law. As a student, she served a judicial externship with the Honorable Sharon G. Lee of the Tennessee Supreme Court. Crisp is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association.
Memphis, Tennessee
Taylor L. Kinard has joined Butler Snow’s Memphis, Tennessee, office. She will practice with the firm’s Finance, Real Estate and Restructuring group. Kinard’s experience includes counseling clients regarding mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions and providing support to an array of clients in all types of commercial real estate and finance transactions. She also helps assist clients with entity formation and corporate governance matters.
Kinard earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar and Memphis Bar Associations. Kinard currently serves as Vice Chair of the Business Law Section of the Memphis Bar Association.
Nashville, Tennessee
Lieselotte M.Carmen-Burks, Brady F. John and Cameron B. Rush have joined Butler Snow’s Nashville, Tennessee, office. Carmen-Burks will practice with the firm’s Labor and Employment group, John with the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare group and Rush with the Business Services group.
Carmen-Burks has handled litigation and arbitration matters in the areas of labor and employment and civil rights. After law school, she clerked for the Hon. Herman N. Johnson, Jr., U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Alabama. Carmen-Burks received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication Studies from Vanderbilt University and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. In law school, she served as the Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review and was a member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. She is a member of the American, Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations.
John completed his undergraduate degree at Rhodes College, where he played four years for the varsity baseball team, before earning his Juris Doctor cum laude at the University of Tennessee College of Law. During that time, he also served as Articles Editor for the Tennessee Law Review. He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.
After Rush’s tenure in public service as an analyst in the Tennessee State Senate and regional director for a U.S. Senate campaign, Rush jump-started his legal career in the private sector representing financial institutions and other clients by negotiating and drafting deal documents on their behalf. Rush brings his government and financial expertise back to Butler Snow as an attorney after previously serving as a Government Relations Advisor for the firm.
Rush earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University and received his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While studying at Wake Forest University, Rush was awarded the Dean Suzanne Reynolds Award for the highest grade, served on the editorial staff of the Journal of Business & Intellectual Property Law, and volunteered his time with the Expungement Project Pro Bono Clinic.
Ridgeland, Mississippi
Brianna N. Caldwell, Lindsey Nelson and Harrison M. Smith have joined Butler Snow’s Ridgeland, Mississippi, office. Caldwell will practice with the firm’s Commercial Litigation group, Nelson with the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare group and Smith with the Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation and Commercial Litigation groups.
Caldwell earned both her undergraduate and Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, degrees from Mississippi College. There, she served as Technical Articles Editor for the Law Review. She is a member of the Mississippi and Capital Area Bar Associations, as well as the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
Nelson graduated from the University of Southern California with her bachelor’s degree before earning her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Mississippi College of Law. She is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and Jackson Young Lawyers.
Smith will primarily practice with the Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group, and secondarily with the Commercial Litigation group. He joins Butler Snow after clerking for the Hon. Cory T. Wilson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Smith earned both his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the Capital Area Bar Association, American Bar Association, Jackson Young Lawyers and Mississippi Bar Association.
