HOUSTON — A Harris County man alleges an oversees shipping company has failed to deliver his vehicles after paying them more than $10,000.

Chuwudi Obiefuna filed a complaint Feb. 24 in Harris County District Court against Overseas Shipping Services Company and Mohamed A. Meselhy alleging fraudulent inducement, unjust enrichment and other claims.

The plaintiff alleges in his complaint that he entered into a contract with the defendants in July of 2021 for the shipping of cars to Angola and Nigeria. He claims he gave the defendants a $10,000 deposit and that after a long delay, he was told there were no containers available for shipping.

The plaintiff further claims that he obtained containers on his own and that during the time the defendants had his property, one of the vehicle's engines was destroyed and that the defendants demanded he pay storage fees for the vehicles for $29,273.

He alleges he gave the defendants $4,000 to keep them from selling the vehicles and as of February 2023, the defendants still had possession of the vehicles, are demanding storage fees of $126,000 and claims the defendants' continue to threaten to sell his vehicles.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Troy Wilson of Wilson & Associates PLLC in Richmond.
