HOUSTON — A couple allege a chemical plant explosion near their home in Channelview caused them to suffer injuries.

Vicnente De La Sancha and Rosalba Gomez filed a complaint April 7 in Harris County District Court against K-Solve Chemicals LLC and K-Solv Chemicals LLC alleging negligence.

The plaintiffs claim they were at their home in Channelview on April 7, 2021. They allege that in the afternoon there was an explosion at the K-Solv Chemical plant with such great force that they were "slammed into the side of their home." The plaintiffs further allege that after the explosion, numerous toxic chemicals were in the air due to a fire.

They claim K-Solv's negligence for failing to use a degree of care that would be used by a company of ordinary prudence under the same circumstances. The plaintiffs also claim that as a result of the explosion, they suffered pain, loss of earnings, disfigurement, impairment and incurred medical care expenses.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, interest, trial by jury ad all other just relief. They are represented by Frederick Wilson, II of The Law Office of Frederick K Wilson in Houston.
