HOUSTON — A guest at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Beach Resort alleges a loose rug caused her slip and fall.

Virginia Tanksley filed a complaint April 10 in Galveston County District Court against Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated doing business as Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Beach Resort and Silverleaf Resorts LLC alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to Tanksley's complaint, she slipped and fell on a loose rug at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Beach Resort hotel on June 26, 2021. She claims the defendant knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition and failed to warn of the hazard.

She also claims the hotel failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition. Tanksley alleges as a result of her fall, she suffered physical pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings, impairment, disfigurement and incurred medical treatment expenses.

Tanksley seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney Joel Joseph in Fresno.
