BEAUMONT - A lawsuit was recently filed by a family that was in an automobile collision with an 18-wheeler.
Fallon Aguilar, individually and on behalf of her minor children, filed suit against Equipmentshare.com, Inc. and Michael Wilson on May 23 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, the crash occurred on Nov. 10, 2022. Aguilar was traveling with her minor children on HWY 347 when Wilson allegedly failed to pay attention to the roadway in his 18- wheeler, causing a collision with the plaintiffs. At the time of the crash, Wilson was within the course and scope of his employment with Equipmentshare.com.
The suit states that a DPS officer conducted an investigation and found Wilson to be the sole cause of the crash. Wilson was also issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
The plaintiffs are seeking exemplary damages and damages for their past and future impairment, pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, and disfigurement.
They are represented by attorneys Cody Dishon and Cullen McDonald of The Ferguson Law Firm in Beaumont.
