HOUSTON — A World Food Warehouse customer is claiming negligence after allegedly slipping in the produce section of the Houston store.

Azra Khan filed a compliant June 5 in Harris County District Court against World Food Imports Inc., doing business as World Food Imports Warehouse, and KGF World Food Warehouse Inc., alleging negligence.

Kahn, according to her complaint, was at the World Food Warehouse on Beechnut Street in Houston on July 5, 2021. She claims she was near the produce when she slipped and fell on a "substance" that was on the floor and suffered injuries.

Khan alleges World Food's negligence for failing to warn of the dangerous condition, failing to have any barriers in the slippery area and for not properly inspecting and maintaining the store. She also alleges she has suffered impairment, mental anguish and incurred medical treatment costs as a result of her slip and fall.

Kahn seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Omar Khawaja of The Law Offices of Omar Khawaja PLLC in Houston.
