GALVESTON — A hotel guest alleges a leaky bathroom sink caused him to slip and fall on a puddle of water in his room.

Tyler Walthall filed a complaint June 26 in Galveston County District Court against Landry Inc., doing business as Boardwalk Inn, alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to Walthall's complaint, he was a guest at the Boardwalk Inn on Waterfront Drive in Kemah on April 7, 2023. He alleges that he slipped and fell in the bathroom on a puddle coming from the sink.

Walthall claims the Boardwalk Inn failed to ensure its hotel rooms did not have any slipping hazards, failed to warn of the hazardous condition from the improperly installed sink.

He also claims the Boardwalk Inn failed to inspect the hotel room and negligently hired and supervised its employees. Walthall alleges he suffered pain, impairment, lost wages and incurred medical care expenses.

Walthall seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief.

He is represented by Steven Hollingsworth and Chelsea Murfree of The Hollingsworth Law Firm PPLC in Houston.
