GALVESTON — A Chevy Silverado owner alleges General Motors has failed to repair the defects with his vehicle, including transmission issues.

Pedro Gonzalez filed a complaint July 25 in Galveston County District Court against General Motors LLC alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other claims.

According to his complaint, Gonzalez purchased a 2019 Chevy Silverado from Big Star Cadillac in Friendswood on May 7, 2022. He alleges the vehicle came with a 36,000-mile basic warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Gonzalez claims the Silverado had numerous defects including transmission slipping, harsh shifting and shuddering , shifting delays from drive to reverse and an engine indicator light malfunction.

He further claims that despite the defendant's repeated attempts to repair the issues with his vehicle the defects continued to exist.

Gonzalez seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Ronald Bolz and Travis Shackelford of Consumer Legal Services PC in Garden City, Missouri.
