HOUSTON - O’Reilly Automotive Stores is facing a lawsuit alleging it negligently failed to provide a safe workplace.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Jeffery Randall filed his suit on Jan. 3 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, Randall was lifting a heavy battery with tongs to place on a pallet at O’Reilly when he twisted while holding the battery and felt a pop in his back, causing him to suffer excruciating pain.

In addition to exemplary damages, Randall is suing for his past and future pain, medical expenses, impairment, loss of earnings and mental anguish.

He is represented by The Traub Law Office.
