Free and open to the public, the People’s Law School offers a half-day curriculum featuring volunteer attorneys who teach courses designed to educate members of the Central Texas community about their legal rights and to make the law “user-friendly.”
Participants choose up to three courses from nearly two dozen hour-long courses offered. The courses focus on practical issues such as consumer rights, elder law, employment law, estate planning, family law, landlord/tenant rights, laws affecting small businesses, and privacy law.
Each year, topics related to current issues are also offered, including previous courses on concealed carry, the castle doctrine, impeachment, immigration law, cryptocurrencies, and many more.
