The Houston Lawyers Association has named University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) Professor Meredith J. Duncan (J.D. ‘93) as the recipient of the 2024 Roberson L. King Excellence in Education Award.
“Professor Duncan is an exceptional teacher and role model for all students. She is one of only 26 law professors studied nationwide in a Harvard University Press book, What the Best Law Teachers Do, a study of the ‘methods, strategies, and personal traits of professors whose students achieve exceptional learning.’ The UH Law Center’s Student Bar Association has selected her multiple times as the Outstanding Professor of the Year. As a UH Law graduate, her success demonstrates the power of the UH Law degree. Our graduates succeed in any environment. The UH Law Center is very proud of Professor Duncan’s well-deserved recognition by the Houston Lawyers Association as the recipient the 2024 Roberson L. King Excellence in Education Award,” said UHLC Dean Leonard M. Baynes.
Duncan, the Alumnae College Professor of Law and the Assistant Dean for Strategic Opportunities, Pedagogy, and Faculty, Student, and Community Engagement, will be honored during the organization’s scholarship and awards gala on April 20. The Houston Lawyers Association is an affiliate of the National Bar Association. She also oversees the Law Center’s award-winning Pre-Law Pipeline Program.
