Brittney Alexander and Jaymeshia Carter have filed a lawsuit against Lidia Vargas Ramos in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The case ID is 2024-21 51 2 / Court: 61, and it was filed on April 5, 2024. The plaintiffs are seeking monetary relief of $250,000 or less, excluding interest, statutory or punitive damages, penalties, attorney's fees and costs.

The plaintiffs allege that on July 15, 2023, they were traveling on Bissonnet St. in Houston when Ramos failed to maintain a safe following distance and control the speed of her vehicle, resulting in a collision with the plaintiffs' vehicle. Alexander and Carter are seeking damages for incurred medical expenses; past and future mental anguish due to physical injuries; past and future physical pain and suffering; past and future physical impairment or incapacity; lost wages; loss of earning capacity in the future; as well as pre- and post-judgment interest.
