In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, plaintiff Gregory Bertsch has filed a lawsuit against Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. The court case ID is not provided and the filing date is April 5, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that an employee of the defendant caused a car accident which resulted in bodily injuries to him.

On August 3, 2022, Bertsch was traveling eastbound at the 24800 block of US 290 feeder road in Harris County when John Griffin, an employee of Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District, failed to control his vehicle's speed and collided with Bertsch's vehicle. This collision caused Bertsch to rear-end another vehicle. The plaintiff claims that Griffin was acting within the scope of his employment at the time of the accident.

As a result of this accident, Bertsch sustained bodily injuries and suffered mental anguish, physical pain and suffering, medical expenses in the past, and impairment and disability in the past. He believes he will also likely suffer legally recoverable damages in the future.

Bertsch is seeking relief in excess of $250,000 but no more than $1,000,000 for damages incurred from this incident. He holds Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District liable for these damages under the Texas Tort Claims Act due to their employee's negligence.
