Matthew Mussalli (3L), Jordon B.V. Smith (3L), and Johanna Pang (2L) were named national champions at the 2024 American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) in Philadelphia on April 7, 2024.
The NAAC is the largest moot court competition in the nation with over 178 teams competing. Students participate in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court and write a brief as either respondent or petitioner. They then argue the case in front of the mock court.
This team won the regional competition in Brooklyn, NY in February and beat out each regional winner at the national competition.
Congratulations to these incredible students and their phenomenal coaches, Lance Caughfield and Haleigh Jones '15!
