HOUSTON - A woman is suing Rooms To Go for injuries she allegedly suffered when a furniture dolly moved and caused her to fall.

Seeking more than $250,000 in damages, Peri Rahgozar filed suit against RTG Furniture of Texas on May 3 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 12, 2022, Rahgozar was at a Rooms To Go helping a friend who purchased goods to load into her truck.

“The defendants placed the goods on a wooden wheeled dolly,” the suit states. “When (Rahgozar) was attempting to help her friend load, the dolly was not secured correctly and started to move. (Rahgozar) hit the ground when (she) fell backward hitting her head on the ground and the dolly rolled away.

“(Rahgozar) had no idea that the dolly under the furniture had wheels and would move around.”

Rahgozar alleges Rooms To Go negligently failed to correct the dangerous condition that was created by the lack of warning signs that the wooden pallet under the furniture had wheels under it, the suit states.

Attorney Paul Moody of the M&M Law Firm represents her.
