Lacrystalla Wilson has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Husain Kapadia and Kapadias Dental Service PLLC, doing business as Vintage Smile Family Dentistry, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Court Case ID: 2024-29035) on May 6, 2024. The lawsuit centers around allegations of medical negligence and fraud.

According to the filing, on May 12, 2022, Wilson visited Vintage Smiles for a dental consultation with Dr. Kapadia, who recommended a treatment plan involving tooth extractions and implants. Wilson agreed to proceed and was referred to "Dr. Juan" for the procedure, which cost $6,500. However, she later discovered that "Dr. Juan" was not licensed to practice dentistry.

Wilson claims that the unlicensed procedure caused her severe personal injury requiring extensive medical treatment. She seeks monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million, excluding interest and attorney's fees.

The plaintiff is seeking compensation for medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, property damages, loss of earnings and earning capacity, exemplary damages for gross negligence, disfigurement, court costs, and pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.
