Seeking more than $5 million in damages, Darrell Norman filed the suit on May 28 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 2, 2024, Norman was a borrowed employee on a Helix barge working as a rigger. A large step down was between the bathroom and his bedroom. He was exiting the bathroom and attempting to enter the bedroom, when his feet slipped out from under him and he fell.
