A workplace injury has sparked a legal battle in Harris County, Texas. On August 1, 2024, Leandro Buch Julajuj filed a complaint against EADO Roofing LLC in the District Court of Harris County, seeking damages for injuries sustained on the job.
The lawsuit stems from an incident on April 30, 2024, when Julajuj was struck by a falling object while working on a garage door during his employment with EADO Roofing LLC. According to the complaint, Julajuj alleges that he was not properly trained for the task assigned to him and was not provided with adequate tools or safety equipment. Furthermore, he claims he was not warned of the hazards associated with his work and did not receive proper assistance or support to safely complete the job.
Julajuj's petition outlines several accusations against EADO Roofing LLC. He asserts that the company failed to take proper measures to ensure his safety and did not provide a reasonably safe workplace. The plaintiff argues that these failures constitute negligence on the part of EADO Roofing LLC as an employer. Specifically, Julajuj accuses the company of failing to adequately train, hire, and supervise employees; failing to warn employees of hazards; failing to provide necessary safety equipment and assistance; and failing to adhere to safety standards when assigning tasks.
The plaintiff further claims that EADO Roofing LLC's negligence directly caused his injuries and resulting damages. He is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1,000,000. In addition to compensatory damages for physical pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, physical impairment, limitation of activities, loss of enjoyment of life, lost wages, and medical expenses (both past and future), Julajuj is also pursuing exemplary damages due to what he describes as gross negligence by the defendant.
In his petition for relief from the court, Julajuj requests actual damages along with compensation for past and future pain and suffering; past and future mental anguish; physical impairment; past and future physical disfigurement; loss of enjoyment of life; exemplary damages; prejudgment and post-judgment interest; costs of court; and any other legal or equitable relief deemed appropriate by the court.
