Eddy Sam Khoury has filed a lawsuit alleging negligence against two individuals following a car accident that resulted in serious injuries. The complaint was lodged on October 11, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, naming Lieu Le and David Le as defendants.
According to the petition, Eddy Sam Khoury claims that on October 11, 2022, he was involved in a collision while traveling southbound on S SH 6 when Lieu Le, driving northbound, made an abrupt left turn without yielding the right of way. This maneuver led to a crash that caused Khoury significant bodily harm. Khoury asserts that Lieu Le failed to exercise ordinary care by not maintaining a proper lookout and not yielding as required by traffic laws. Furthermore, Khoury accuses Lieu Le of operating his vehicle recklessly and at an unsafe speed, ultimately failing to avoid the collision.
In addition to the negligence claim against Lieu Le, Khoury also accuses David Le of negligent entrustment. As the owner of the vehicle driven by Lieu Le during the incident, David Le is alleged to have been aware or should have been aware of Lieu's incompetence as a driver due to their close familial relationship. The plaintiff argues that David Le negligently entrusted his vehicle to someone inexperienced and reckless, which directly contributed to the accident.
Khoury's lawsuit seeks monetary damages ranging from $250,000 to $1 million for medical expenses incurred both past and future, physical pain and suffering endured and anticipated, loss of earnings and earning capacity, mental anguish suffered and expected in the future, disfigurement resulting from injuries sustained in the crash, and property damage costs including storage and towing fees. The plaintiff also demands a jury trial for this case.
Representing Eddy Sam Khoury is attorney Lorin R. George from The Law Offices of Omar Khawaja PLLC. The case is presided over by Judge Adiliani Solis under Case ID 2024-70918.
