Beverly Santee has filed a lawsuit against Bluescape Altera NWP LLC, alleging negligence and premises liability after sustaining injuries from a slip and fall incident. The complaint was filed on October 11, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas.

According to the court documents, Beverly Santee claims that on January 12, 2024, she suffered personal injuries while visiting Bluescape Altera NWP LLC's premises at 800 Peakwood Drive in Houston, Texas. Santee alleges that as an invitee on the property, she slipped and fell due to a sign that had fallen off the building and was left on the ground without any warning signs to alert her of the danger. The plaintiff argues that this constituted an unreasonably dangerous condition which Bluescape Altera NWP LLC should have known about and addressed. "The Defendant had the duty and responsibility to eliminate and/or warn business invitees of unreasonably dangerous conditions on the premises," states Santee's petition.

Santee accuses Bluescape Altera NWP LLC of negligence for failing to maintain a safe environment for invitees like herself. She lists several points of negligence including failure to properly maintain the premises, exercise reasonable care to avoid injury risks, adequately train employees, provide warnings about hazardous conditions, and inspect for potential dangers. Additionally, she asserts that Bluescape Altera NWP LLC breached its duty by not making the premises reasonably safe or warning her about the existing dangers.

In terms of damages sought, Beverly Santee is requesting monetary relief greater than $250,000 but less than $1 million. She cites severe physical injuries resulting in pain and suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages, loss of earning capacity as well as past and future medical expenses as grounds for compensation. The plaintiff also demands a jury trial for her case.

Representing Beverly Santee is attorney Sofia E. Bruera from Bruera Law Firm PLLC based in Houston. The case has been assigned Case ID 2024-70732 in Court 127 with Judge Christopher Matthews presiding over it.
