Stephen Kuhn has filed a lawsuit against the City of Houston and United Airlines, Inc., alleging negligence after suffering severe injuries at Bush Intercontinental Airport. The complaint was lodged in Harris County District Court on October 11, 2024, naming both the city and the airline as defendants.

The incident that led to this legal action occurred on April 29, 2024, when Stephen Kuhn slipped on a slippery substance between Terminals B and C at the airport. According to Kuhn's petition, there were no warning signs or notices about the hazardous condition that caused his fall. He claims that the lack of proper maintenance and failure to warn invitees like himself resulted in his serious bodily injuries. The lawsuit asserts that both defendants had a duty to maintain safe premises for business invitees and failed to do so by not eliminating or adequately warning about dangerous conditions.

Kuhn's allegations include negligence and premises liability. He accuses the City of Houston and United Airlines of failing to properly maintain the area, neglecting to exercise reasonable care to prevent foreseeable risks of injury, inadequately training their employees, and not providing sufficient warnings about potential hazards. As a result of these alleged failures, Kuhn sustained severe physical injuries leading to pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, and medical expenses.

In his filing, Kuhn seeks monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but less than $1 million. He requests a jury trial for his case and aims for compensation covering all damages allowed by law along with prejudgment and post-judgment interest. Additionally, he seeks court costs and any further relief deemed justly entitled.

Representing Stephen Kuhn is attorney Sofia E. Bruera from Bruera Law Firm PLLC. The case is being handled in Harris County's 269th Judicial District Court under Case ID 2024-70767.
