In a gripping legal battle, a Texas resident has taken on a major hospitality company, alleging negligence that led to severe personal injuries. On October 9, 2024, Dawn Bordovsky filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County against HBD Hospitality LLC, operating as La Quinta Inn & Suites. The lawsuit accuses the hotel chain of failing to maintain safe premises, resulting in Bordovsky's slip and fall at their Humble, Texas location.

According to the complaint, Bordovsky was visiting the La Quinta Inn & Suites on May 19, 2024, when she encountered an unmarked hazard on the floor that caused her to slip and sustain serious injuries. She claims that the hotel’s management and staff either created this dangerous condition or were aware of it but failed to take appropriate action. "LA QUINTA INN & SUITES had a duty to provide her with a reasonably safe premises," asserts Bordovsky in her filing. The plaintiff argues that this failure constitutes both active negligence and premises liability under Texas law.

Bordovsky is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for damages including physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, and loss of household services. She also demands compensation for past and future medical expenses resulting from the incident. Her legal team emphasizes that the hotel's negligence was a direct cause of her injuries and subsequent damages.

Represented by Jeffrey N. Todd from The Todd Law Group PLLC, Bordovsky is determined to hold La Quinta Inn & Suites accountable for what she describes as preventable harm due to unsafe conditions. The case has been assigned Case ID 2024-70251 in the 295th Judicial District Court of Harris County.
