A transportation service company is facing serious allegations after an incident left a man with severe injuries. Willie Haywood filed a complaint against Scubby Transportation Services, LLC in the District Court of Harris County, Texas on October 16, 2024. The lawsuit accuses the transportation company of negligence leading to Haywood's injuries.

According to the details of the case, on April 13, 2023, Willie Haywood was scheduled for a medical appointment and was supposed to be transported by Scubby Transportation Services. However, during this process, an unfortunate incident occurred when the door of the bus swung open unexpectedly and struck Haywood's right ankle. This accident resulted in significant personal injuries that required extensive medical treatment. The plaintiff alleges that Scubby Transportation Services negligently allowed a dangerous condition to exist and failed to take necessary actions to prevent or warn about it.

Haywood's petition outlines several accusations against Scubby Transportation Services. It claims that the company permitted a hazardous condition to persist without adequate inspection or maintenance of their vehicles. Furthermore, it asserts that there was a failure in supervising and training employees regarding safety measures and removal of potential dangers. The lawsuit emphasizes that these negligent acts were proximate causes of Haywood’s injuries and damages.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for various damages including past and future medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish from the date of injury until trial, loss of earnings and earning capacity, as well as past and future physical disfigurement and impairment. The monetary relief sought is over $250,000 but not more than $1,000,000 as per Rule 47 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.

Representing Willie Haywood is attorney Richard J. Nava from Nava Law Group P.C., while Erin Cortez appears on behalf of Andres Rejas from RHH Law Group. The case has been assigned Case ID 2024-72068 in the District Court presided over by Judge Marilyn Burgess.
