McGuireWoods Partners Named Among Lawdragon’s Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers

McGuireWoods partners Sabrina A. Beldner, Meghaan C. Madriz, Bruce M. Steen and Jacquelyn E. Stone have once again been recognized in Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers of America, an annual guide that honors top advisers in global labor and employment matters for businesses, universities, nonprofits and other organizations.

Beldner was honored on the Lawdragon list for the fifth consecutive year, while Madriz, Steen and Stone were recognized for the fourth year in a row.

Based in McGuireWoods’ Century City office, Beldner is the immediate past chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. She represents clients in individual, class, representative and collective action employment-related claims, as well as traditional labor matters. Additionally, she advises on traditional labor matters, conducts high-level employee misconduct investigations and provides management training on employment issues.

Madriz, based in Houston, advises clients on a range of labor and employment law matters, including wage-and-hour disputes, internal investigations, class and collective actions, and discrimination claims. She also handles litigation involving unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets, and advises on employment agreements, restrictive covenants and employment law practices.

Steen, based in Charlotte, is McGuireWoods’ general counsel and former chair of the Labor & Employment Department. He has extensive experience litigating collective and class action claims and defending clients against wrongful termination, breach of contract, unlawful harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims. Steen also has extensive experience representing ERISA welfare and pension benefits plans in single and multiplaintiff benefits disputes.

Stone, a Richmond partner in the Securities & Capital Markets Department, focuses on immigration-related matters, assisting companies with employment-based visas for professionals such as engineers, physicians, lawyers, architects, teachers, professors and research scientists. She also helps foreign companies and organizations establish U.S. operations and transfer key executives.

McGuireWoods earned national Tier 1 rankings for labor and employment litigation and employment law in the 2024 edition of U.S. News-Best Lawyers’ “Best Law Firms.” The firm also was recognized as a leader in labor and employment disputes and employee benefits in the 2024 edition of  Legal 500 United States.
