Eura Brown has filed a lawsuit against several prominent entities, including Shell Energy Stadium and the City of Houston, alleging negligence that resulted in personal injury. The complaint was lodged on October 23, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, naming Shell Energy Stadium, Shell Energy, Octopus Energy, Harris County-Houston Sports Authority, City of Houston, and Janis Burke as defendants.

The case stems from an incident on January 20, 2023, when Eura Brown was injured at Shell Energy Stadium. According to the complaint, Brown was seated at the stadium when a chair fell on her head. This accident led to significant injuries including a concussion and a bulging disk in her neck. Brown continues to suffer from pain and vertigo as a result of these injuries. She claims that the defendants were negligent in maintaining safe premises for visitors. "Defendants knew or should have known of this unsafe condition but failed to remedy or correct it," asserts the complaint.

Brown's legal action is based on accusations of negligence and gross negligence by the defendants. The lawsuit details how the entities allegedly allowed dangerous conditions to persist at their venue without adequate warning or correction measures. Specific failures include not properly inspecting or maintaining the stadium area and failing to provide sufficient warnings about potential hazards such as loose chairs.

The plaintiff seeks monetary compensation ranging from $250,000 to $1 million for damages related to physical pain, mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses both past and future, and other losses resulting from the incident. Additionally, Brown requests exemplary damages due to what she perceives as reckless disregard for safety by those responsible for managing the stadium.

Representing Eura Brown are attorneys Roshun A. Phipps and Erik Garza from Phipps Garza PLLC. The case is filed under Case ID 2024-74056 in Harris County's 295th Judicial District Court.
