Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough LLP continues its strategic expansion in Texas with the addition of two distinguished attorneys in its Houston office. Rocio Guadalupe Mendoza, a highly regarded corporate lawyer with extensive experience in the energy sector, joins the firm’s Corporate practice group from Paul Hastings LLP. Manny Schoenhuber, a skilled international attorney with a focus on acting as Outside General Counsel for European companies and investors in the U.S., transitions from Jackson Walker to the firm’s Litigation practice group.

“Texas continues to be an exciting growth market for our firm, and we are thrilled to welcome Rocio and Manny to our Houston office,” said Craig Dillard, Houston office managing partner. “They are top-tier talent with track records of success and will strengthen our statewide presence, particularly in Houston which remains a hub for energy, corporate transactions, and international business. Their move to Nelson Mullins further highlights the uniqueness of the firm's platform in the US legal market."

Mendoza is a distinguished corporate attorney known for her ability to navigate a wide range of complex energy transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and project development. She has more than a decade of experience advising traditional and alternative energy clients on their strategic transactions, commercial arrangement and operations in the United States and around the globe, particularly in Latin America.

“With its growing energy team, breadth of complementary practices and reasonable pricing approach, Nelson Mullins provides the perfect platform for my practice,” Mendoza said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to continue building our energy practice, expanding our Houston office, and most importantly, providing our clients with the best value legal services we can.”

Schoenhuber, whose practice focuses on international law, assists companies and investors on cross-border legal matters between the U.S. and Europe. He helps clients navigate the complex legal landscape, mitigate risk, and maximize profitability through foreign direct investment and market entry strategies. Schoenhuber regularly represents European investors, companies, and their subsidiaries in the U.S.

“I could not be more excited about the opportunity to join Nelson Mullins and its growing international team,” Schoenhuber said. “Cross-border matters and foreign direct investment between the U.S. and Europe will only continue to increase, and I cannot think of a better full-service platform for my clients and business partners.”
