Congratulations to Professor Marc Steinberg and his son A.B. Steinberg (3L) whose article has been accepted for publication as the lead article in Volume 80, Issue 1 of the University of Miami Law Review this fall.

The article, titled “Unflexed Muscle: SEC Enforcement and Officer SOX 302 Certifications,” examines the Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement of the chief executive officer and chief financial officer certification requirements under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. It analyzes the appropriate interpretation of the statute’s reach, the SEC enforcement proceedings instituted under this provision, and whether or not the statute meets its legislative objectives. As the first work to address this important and timely issue, the article makes a significant contribution to both academic and practical discussions in securities law through strong empirical analysis.

"Working alongside my father on this article has been a unique experience. I’ve grown up watching him write and getting to finally do a piece with him is truly special," said A.B.
