Former lawyers with now-closed Beirne, Maynard and Parsons open new boutique firm

HOUSTON – After the dissolution of Houston-based litigation firm Beirne, Maynard and Parsons in July, 10 of its lawyers have gone on to form a boutique litigation practice called Parsons, McEntire, McClery and Clark, with offices in Houston and Dallas.

State of Texas challenges Equal Opportunity Employment Commission's enforcement guidance

AUSTIN -- The state of Texas has filed an appeal against the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC), its chair, Jenny Yang, and United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The appeal was filed in the United States Court of Appeals Fifth Circuit on June 27.

Luminant objects to Titus County Appraisal District's valuation of Monticello power plant

MONTICELLO – Titus County’s biggest taxpayer Luminant Corp. is claiming in a suit against the county's appraisal district that its coal-fired power plant in Monticello is worth one-seventh of its $341 million appraised value - or approximately $50 million.
