Couple files suit after husband loses leg in motorcycle accident

A Galveston County couple filed suit against a driver after the husband lost a leg in an accident involving his motorcycle.

John Doiron and Pamela Doiron filed a complaint Sept. 26 in Galveston County District Court against Carla Deann McDonald, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, plaintiff John Doiron was driving his motorcycle in Galveston County on March 13, 2012. Carla Deann McDonald, the suit states, was allegedly driving her car while distracted and turned into the path of Doiron causing a crash that resulted in crippling injuries. According to the suit, after several painful medical procedures, Doiron was forced to have his leg amputated.

John and his wife Pamela Doiron say they have both suffered greatly due to this accident and his injuries. The suit alleges the injuries were a direct result of the defendant's negligence.

The plaintiffs seek damages in excess of jurisdictional limits, plus court costs. They are represented by attorney I. Nelson Heggen of Houston.
