Motorcyclist files personal injury suit

Motorcycle wreck

A Galveston County man is suing over claims he was injured when a vehicle struck his motorcycle on state Highway 6.

Richard Hamric filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in Galveston County District Court against Arlene Granados, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Hamric was driving a motorcycle on state Highway 6 in Santa Fe, Galveston County, on Nov. 15, 2012, when Granados failed to control her speed and struck the rear of Hamric's vehicle, causing him to sustain serious injuries. Granados is accused of negligence and negligence per se in failing to control her speed and following too closely.

Hamric seeks more than $50,000 in damages, including medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, interest and costs of court. He is represented by attorney Greg Hill of Pearland.
