Convalescent center hit with wrongful death suit

Wrongfuldeath

A Harris County woman, in the role of executrix, has filed a wrongful death suit against a League City convalescent center.

Brenda Jordan, individually, and as independent executrix, on behalf of the estate of Irene Beale Gosch, filed a lawsuit Dec. 29, 2014, in Galveston County District Court against Baywind Village Inc., doing business as Baywind Village Convalescent Center, citing a history of negligence involving Gosch’s care.

According to the complaint, Gosch’s death, on May 17, 2014, was the culmination of a series of ineffective medical treatment decisions over a period of time that included allowing Gosch to fall.

Jordan, who cited emotional, physical and mental suffering to herself and Gosch, seeks damages and fees, including funeral costs, between $200,000 and $1 million and has requested a jury trial.

Jordan is represented by attorneys Robert M. Wharton, Andrea A. Zarikian and Mary E. Green of McIvor Brown Law Firm in Houston.
