USAA Casualty Insurance Company has taken legal action against an individual, seeking compensation for damages allegedly caused by negligent driving. The complaint was filed on March 7, 2025, in the Harris County District Court against Nolberto Blanco.

According to the lawsuit, USAA Casualty Insurance Company is pursuing a claim against Nolberto Blanco following a vehicular accident that occurred on or about March 13 at the intersection of Franklin Street and Travis Street in Houston, Texas. The plaintiff asserts that the defendant's negligent operation of a vehicle resulted in a collision with a car owned by Erika Morton DuBose, who is insured by USAA. As a result of this incident, damages amounting to $19,608.23 were incurred. The insurance company compensated its insured for these losses and now seeks subrogation for the same amount from Blanco.

The plaintiff argues that Nolberto Blanco's actions directly led to the accident and subsequent damages. They cite negligence as the primary cause of action and reference Texas Transportation Code §601.335 to support their case. In their filing, USAA requests that the court allow both parties to enter into written installment payment agreements without requiring further orders from the court. This provision aims to facilitate an amicable resolution regarding the financial liabilities arising from the incident.

USAA Casualty Insurance Company is seeking judgment against Nolberto Blanco for $19,608.23 along with prejudgment and post-judgment interest and coverage of court costs. They have also requested any additional relief deemed appropriate by the court. This monetary relief is categorized under Level 1 discovery as per Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, indicating that it falls below $250,000.

Representing USAA in this legal matter are attorneys Jessica R. Lobes, Jared B. Hall, and Jehaan “Gigi” Mattar from Rathbone Group LLC based in Dallas, Texas. The case has been assigned Case ID 2025-15714 and will be heard in Harris County's 125th District Court.
