A Jefferson County woman has sued a company, its owner and its employee for injuries resulting from an auto accident.
Mae Paul of Beaumont filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 against Mussie Melles Abbai, Bereket Weldemichael and Yoham Trucking in Jefferson County District Court, citing vehicular negligence.
According to the suit, Paul was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Gulf and Interstate 10 when a vehicle owned by Weldemichael and driven by his employee, Abbai, crushed the right side of Paul's vehicle when attempting a right-hand turn. Paul suffered injuries to her head, neck, shoulders, arm, hip and general body, the suit states.
Abbai failed to maintain a proper lookout, turn safely, control his vehicle, brake to avoid an accident and drive attentively, the suit states, and Paul has incurred medical expenses, physical impairment, pain and suffering.
Paul seeks compensation for damages, attorney fees, expenses and costs. She is represented by Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont.
