Grandmother blames school for injuries on slippery floor

Caution slippery

A Harris County grandmother has sued a League City school, alleging negligence in a fall.

Wanda Wolfe of Seabrook filed a lawsuit March 5 in Galveston County District Court against Country Kingdom Montessori School Inc.,  citing negligence.

According to the suit, on June 14, 2013, Wolfe arrived at the school to pick up her grandchild when she stepped on a freshly mopped floor, fell and experienced neck and back pain radiating down her leg. Follow-up medical care revealed bulging discs in Wolfe’s lower back, the suit states, and when Wolfe requested that the school pay her medical bills she was refused.

The lawsuit says no warning signs were posted, creating hazardous conditions, and the school’s breach of duty caused Wolfe to suffer severe personal injuries. She alleges she experienced pain, suffering, impairment and disability.

Wolfe seeks between $100,000 and $200,000 in compensation for past and future medical care, attorney fees, expenses and costs. She is represented by attorney Brad Beers of Houston.
