A customer has sued Walmart, alleging injuries suffered in a slip-and-fall accident.
Barbara Colvin filed a lawsuit April 20 in Galveston County District Court against Walmart Stores Texas, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 3, 2014, Colvin was at Walmart, 13484 Northwest Freeway, Houston, when she slipped and fell on a wet floor on the way to the restroom. The lawsuit states she suffered injuries to her head, neck, left knee, right shoulder and right knee.
The suit says Walmart failed to properly maintain its floors, failed to warn the plaintiff of a hazard, failed to clean up the substance in a timely way and is guilty of other negligent and grossly negligent acts.
The plaintiff cites negligence, gross negligence and premises liability, and says she has experienced injury, pain and suffering, past and future earnings loss and medical expenses.
Colvin seeks damages between $200,000 to $1 million, plus costs. She is represented by attorneys M. Paul Skrabanek of Pierce, Skrabanek and Bruera in Houston, and John Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
