Former FedEx employee files $5M suit over 'heavy workload'

A former FedEx employee recently brought a lawsuit against the company, alleging she was given too heavy of a workload.

Robin Prince Rivers of Bryan, Texas, filed against FedEx Package Ground System; Randstad HR Solutions of Delaware; Jason Berlango, Mike Gonzales and Angel Hope Guerra in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas on June 3, claiming civil rights violation in the course of her employment.

The plaintiff, who is African-American and has diabetes and ADD, maintains that she was mistreated, given too heavy a workload, and denied work hours. Rivers alleges that she resigned her position with the defendant due to fear of retaliation, mentioning that she sought refuge at a local shelter out of fear; and had to forfeit her vehicle due to lost income.

Citing a hostile work environment and race, age, and disability discrimination, Rivers alleges harassment, increased surveillance, threats and false allegations made by the defendants in her capacity as an employee with FedEx.

She also cites emotional suffering, and mental anguish; lost wages and earning capacity; medical expenses; economic loss; invasion of privacy, and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff seeks $5 million in compensatory, punitive, general and special damages.

She is self-represented.
