A lawsuit brought over an automobile collision in Port Arthur is heading to trial.
Citing negligence, Juwon Dancy filed a lawsuit May 20, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court against Kerry Wayne Roberts.
Jury selection began Monday, June 8. The trial is expected to last between two to three days, according to a courthouse official.
According to the original petition, Dancy was driving at the intersection of Dequeen and Thomas boulevards in Port Arthur on Aug. 6, 2013, when a vehicle driven by Roberts collided with the plaintiff’s vehicle.
The collision was caused by the defendant’s negligence and resulted in bodily harm and medical costs for the plaintiff, according to the suit.
Dancy is seeking damages for his mental anguish, pain and medical expenses.
