Flanagan vs. Mediterranean $6 million contract dispute moved to federal court

The two Texas-based shipping companies, the James J. Flanagan Shipping Corp. and the Mediterranean Shipping Co., that have been disputing a $6 million contract for three months now will now take their battle to the federal courts.

Flanagan claimed Mediterranean breached its contract. The company filed suit with the Jefferson County District Court on March 28.

MSC is a global shipping company and has an office in Dallas.

According to the plaintiff's original petition, MSC accepted numerous services and materials from Flanagan without compensating the company. The tally for services rendered comes to $6,187, 811.27, plus interest.

Flanagan is represented by James Eloi Doyle of Doyle, Restrepo, Harvin & Robbins, a Houston firm.
