Alexsam Inc. vs. Evolution Benefits Inc. et al
- Alexsam Inc. claims it has rights to U.S. Patent No. 6,000,608 for "Multifunction Card System" issued to inventor Robert Dorf on Dec. 14, 1999. Evolution is willfully and deliberately infringing on the patent, Alexsam claims.
The company is seeking treble damages, or three times the damages awarded by the jury as a means to punish the defendant.
The plaintiff is represented by Randy McClanahan of Houston.
The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge David Folsom.

MHL Tek LLC vs. Nissan Motor Co. et al
- MHL Tek says it holds several patents, including U.S. Patent No. 5,663,496, for a system that monitors air pressure in vehicle tires. The system features a sensor unit in each tire that sends signals to a vehicle system.
The plaintiff has named major car manufacturers including Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Porsche, Audi, BMW, Isuzu, Subaru and Volkswagen, as defendants in a patent infringement suit.
The plaintiff is seeking treble damages, or three times the damages awarded by a jury as a means to punish the defendant.

Fulks vs. Chris-Craft Corporation
- Plaintiff Fulks claims it holds the rights to U.S. Patent Nos. 6,032, 606 and 6,161,496, which deal with a boat with an integrated floor and stringer system. The system is designed to provide structural support to the hull.
Fulks says boat builder Chris-Craft is infringing on the patents.
The plaintiff is seeking an injunction to stop Chris-Craft and an award for damages caused by the infringements.

Teknowledge Corp. vs. Cellco Partnership dba Verizon Wireless
- Teknowledge claims it has the rights to a system that automatically notifies cellular subscribers of updates and other information over the cellular network. The U.S. Patent No. is 6,029,175, issued Feb. 22, 2000.
The plaintiff alleges that Verizon Alerts are in violation of the patent.
Teknowledge is seeking reasonable royalties from the defendant.
